Consumer education about food safety is very important to reduce foodborne illness. It doesn't matter what food control plans industry has in place - consumers will still get sick if they don't know how to follow the 4Cs.
Consumers' Institute has been a member of the Full Partnership and Working Group since 1998. Consumer regularly publishes articles on food safety topics and incorporates food safety messages into test articles such as fridges and barbeques.
Belonging to the Partnership is a great way to share ideas and network with government, consumer groups and industry.
